Now that spring is bursting forth again and more and more plants are showing their flowers, the Heemtuin (local nature garden) will gradually open its doors again on Sundays.
Sunday 15 March is the first Sunday opening. From 2e From Easter Sunday, April 6th, the National Garden will be open every Sunday up to and including September.
On these Sundays, you can admire the garden from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
From 18 March, the Heemtuin will also be open on Wednesdays, meaning you can visit on all weekdays from 09:00 to 16:00.
At the moment, the daffodils are blooming in abundance and other spring flowers are also displaying their vibrant colours, such as wood anemones, lesser celandine, great celandine, periwinkle, primroses, green hellebore and ramsons. Shrubs like blackthorn, willow and bog-myrtle are also showing their blossoms or catkins.
Currently, many bird species can be heard and the common frogs have also laid many clumps of frogspawn.
De Heemtuin is also easily accessible for disabled visitors, and benches are located throughout, allowing you to experience spring in peace and quiet.
